My name is Tanya. Throughout life’s challenges, I found myself lacking effective tools and resilience. After trying various physical and psychotherapists that all felt nice and made sense but without lasting results, hypnosis was the first modality that left me feeling empowered and resourced to move forward and thrlve. And learning ways to undo and prevent physical damage made manual therapy results more signficant and lasting.
I understand how tension can linger and grow; stress can recur and escalate; post-trauma symptoms and recurrences can feel like an endless loop. I learned mindfulness and exercised but I now see these as only rudimentary solutions to complex, lifelong problems, and I’ve spend years looking for solutions to the root causes. Our society does not enable optimal health, but there are ways we can revolutionize our relationship with our selves, environment, and time for better outcomes, and I’m determinded to continue finding them while already enjoing the fruits of what I’ve discovered so far. I am looking forward to passing all of my hard-won knowledge and experience on to you.
I am a Registered Massage Therapist as defined by the Ministry of Health in Ontario, Canada. My professional training consists of the following provincially regulated milestones:
Registration with the College of Massage Therapist of Ontario, 2018
Diploma in Massage Therapy, 2018
I have also completed the following unregulated yet invaluable training
I must credit my very first teachers/clients who continue to educate me in every aspect of movement, biomechanical maintenance, and tension release: cats and dogs. They don’t hesitate to let me know how they feel, they have no shame about their bodies or how they move, and they use some of the most effective movement techniques I have ever seen.
We are trained and authorized to “use hypnotism with clients to motivate them to eliminate negative or unwanted habits, facilitate the learning process, improve memory and concentration, develop self-confidence, eliminate stage fright, improve athletic abilities, and for other social, educational and cultural endeavors of a non-medical nature. Except where state law provides otherwise, members shall use hypnotism with clients regarding a medical or mental disease only on written referral from a licensed medical or mental health professional.”
Hypnotism cannot replace Psychotherapy or Psychiatry, nor are such therapists who use hypnosis with clients to be considered as offering equivalent services as those of Certified Consulting Hypnotists, who are specialists in the use of hypnotism.

More about my relationship with Hypnosis…
I first tried Hypnotism as part of my search for lasting relief from chronic muscle tension (including TMJ) and mental and emotional stress (and their side effects, such as IBS). While therapies like massage and chiropractic brought some relief, I was frustrated to return to my original state the very next day after treatment. Osteopathy helped my body to function optimally, but my state of mind remained locked in worry. Psychotherapy helped me to better understand my habitual emotional and thought patterns, but I still had little success in changing them. Practicing Hatha yoga and the Alexander Technique helped somewhat, but I was convinced that deeper, more lasting relief was possible. After one session of hypnotism, I felt more light and calm for an entire week. After six sessions, I felt like I was permanently on my way to being the me I was born to be before “life happened”. I was so blown away by my personal results that I had to learn more:
I am certified to practice hypnosis by the National Guild of Hypnotists (www.ngh.net), of which I am a Member in Good Standing (this means I have maintained their continuing-education requirements and I adhere to their Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice). I was trained and certified at the Ontario Hypnosis Centre School where I also learned about Gestalt-based coaching. (More about Tanya…)
Hypnosis changed my life. (There – I said it. It’s true!)
